It's some days before spring, but the sky is still dark and heavy, it's cold. One of those cold days I went out looking for something new, cozy place to warm my heart.
A short walk from Liverpool tube station, where metal and steel turns to brick again and narrow streets are so cozy and charming. You can just walk around for hours and never get bored. Here you can let your hair down and just be for a while.
Feeling anti-social? Don't be guilty for that. Different days and different needs. Lock yourself in one of the local coffee shops, with the new book and latte. Or have a quiet sweet moment alone with handmade chocolate treats in Dark sugar.
For craft beer lovers there is London beer week on 22-28th of February (hurry up! You still have time!) with million of pop-up craft bars and Craft beer rising festival
As another shopping alternative go to Box Park shopping mall made of old containers (it doesn't get more hipster than that) with million (it seems) different stores with clothes, souvenirs and presents, glasses and accessories. A bit of an overload with hashtags if you ask me, but again, what do I know about modern hip culture.
I was a bit surprised to see how Scandinavian culture is in trend here right now. The amount of Ä, Ö and Å letters in store names, everything is very "Nordic". Not to mention walls of Kånken backpacks in every respectful store, which once been just a school bags for Swedish kids and now the irreplaceable accessory of everyone. I have one myself (guilty). Looking at the range in some clothes stores, It seems that you need to be dressed as you are planning Polar expedition, not walking around central London.
My own personal discovery of the day is little corner shop Harnett & Pope with designer clothes. I fell in love with their patchwork jumpers. But am just not ready to pay 90£ for a sweatshirt. Yet...
Overall I was quite pleased with myself as I was taking tube back home. I did manage to just be in a moment without rushing or stressing, allowing myself to be who I wanted to be in that moment. A bit sensitive, a bit cold, a bit tired but inspired at the same time.
I didn't really know what I was looking for in this place, but I found it...
